Many of our subscribers have requested the ability to access their entire suite of databases via one Available Databases page. This functionality will be made available as of 12/1/2008.

Subscribers that prefer to use direct links to access their databases can continue to use such functionality. Once their users connect to a specific database and click on the Available Databases link they will now see Reference and News Services databases on one portal page.

Enhanced News Services usage statistics functionality including: ICOLC and COUNTER compliant reporting, 24-months of archived usage data, and the introduction of a consortia reporting site for New Services subscribers.

You will not need to change your access URLs. Please ensure that your users access Facts On File databases remotely via the following credentials as of 12/1/2008:

- I currently use direct links to access each respective database, how does this change affect my institution?

Your Reference database URLs will remain the same. The ID component of your News Services URLs will change. Your account specific ID is located at the end of your direct URL. We’ve highlighted the change in your URL structure in blue for easy reference.

You will now access your usage statistics via one interface for your Reference and News Services subscriptions as of 12/1/2008. Please note historical News Services statistics will be available via the News Services Archives hyperlink in the upper-right corner of the Web Reporting interface.
